Ana Ramirez is a seven-time EMMY award-winning visual journalist for The San Diego Union-Tribune. Before focusing on the cross border communities in San Diego and Tijuana as a visual journalist she worked on short-form documentary storytelling at the Austin American-Statesman.

She grew up in Tucson, Arizona before moving to Phoenix, where she graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In college, she began as a writer but soon found a love for photography.

Since graduating from college she has worked for four daily papers and continues her passion as a visual journalist.
